Day 1

April 6th, 2008

Today is day 1, where I had some quiet time to myself for the past *counts fingers* 3 months, where I have been working my ass off for what you call, a job.

Today is day 1, where I don’t feel that much guilt for not working, or sleeping an additional hour.

Sigh.

This year’s peak period has been all time bad. Continuous long hours with back to back job bookings, and all my weekends packed in giftboxes and given away as freebies.

It started off fine, where the morale was high and I look forward to the rewards at the end of the day. Not long after, I start placing others expectations of me upon myself and it was never good enough. Morale dropped to an all time low and I was slowly falling into a mild depression for the past 3 weeks. I dragged myself out of bed to work every single day and secretly wished that a miracle will happen the next day. I’m weary and tired. I hate myself for feeling this way. I hate myself for behaving like a loser.

I took medical leave on Friday, got away from this stressful city and where I call home.

Today is also day 1, where I recovered from my mild depression and is back with a vengeance.

Aww, I am currently looking at my bank balance after paying off all my December credit card bills.

*OUCH*

Orchard on Saturday

January 28th, 2008

I was out with Sandhya on Saturday for my Chinese New Year shopping. Although, we shopped in vain cos’ I was more frustrated with the crowd and all those hot-selling red clothes on the racks, which irritates me more than ever. We ended up with not much purchases to our shopping bags, except for some red lingerie. Haha. Well, I figured if I can’t wear red outside, wearing red inside will sure bring me some luck too! =)

I spotted this wedding car parked at Marriot hotel. It’s sooooo sweet, isn’t it?

Just married

We walked abit further, and handsome Mannequins at Tangs spotted. Apparently, they were having a modelling show using the window display as their runway. The models were so gorgeous, they could easily pass off as Mannequins!

Credits to Sandhya who took their pictures, I’m innocent. =)

The weekend seems to fly by me, just like that. Aie, its back to work tomorrow.

NYE 31 Dec 07

January 25th, 2008

This is a long overdue post I suppose. I’ve been so busy with everything since the new year started, I barely have time for myself! Long hours at work, and my poor attempt at a work life balance, I am left with really little time for anything else.

Every year on new year’s eve, we celebrate JD’s birthday. He’s the youngest of the lot (no one else can beat the baby of the last day of the year), though always the most troubled, but nonetheless one of the sweetest too. =)

At Attica.

Oh yes, there was this caucasian man who came up to me that night at Attica and asked if I was local. By replying yes to him, he assumed I was attracted to him based on the fact that I am a local girl and that ALL local women love white men. (I also assumed he didn’t see me rolling my eyes cos’ it was too dark) It ended up being a (polite) “No”, “Yes” debate. But I figured I rather not speak to him and immediately made my escape plan. He was a turn-off really, now who will buy his brilliant pick up lines?!!!

A photographer with nightlife.sg took a picture of us that night. And don’t I look like a foreign object at the background? Gee, I think I do!

Lunch

January 18th, 2008

I was having lunch at Ah Yat Seafood today.

Ah Yat

And this was the biggest Oyster I’ve had, to date!

Finally pulling out of this job today, where we’ve been fed day and night like force-fed chickens. Hur hur hur.

Jacky Cheung World Tour 2007

January 7th, 2008

Jacky Cheung World Tour
I was at The Year of Jacky Cheung World Tour 2007 last night.

Prior to this, I haven’t been to a concert before. All the concert go-ers that night were very reserved throughout. And it’s only till the encore segment did the real fans started getting excited.

I won’t exactly identify myself as his fan, (I hate doing the embarassing “fan-sy” thing) but I thought that for once, I should experience the veteran’s stage presence myself.

I loove loove loove his classics! They get me feeling all warm and fuzzy. At 46 years old, he oozes the brilliance of a true veteran. Even with all the fame and recognition he has received throughout his career, he still remains a humble and down-to-earth son, husband and father.

Overall, his concert was brilliant, minus the part when he starts the sexy dancing thing though. Jacky Cheung is still the “ge shen” after all, so I suggest to leave the dancing thing to Aaron Kwok instead. :)

Celebration

January 2nd, 2008

The wedding season is finally over, I suppose. Just a couple of months back, I was hearing wedding bells everywhere. It was like, the peak of the love season. And there I was, attending a colleague’s wedding at The Hilton.

I wonder what happened to the pictures I took with the lovely bride!!! *mental note to go hunt them down*

Then we adjourned to Boat Quay for some after party.

Edmund, who never fails to make fun of my “chubbiness”.

And when the clock strikes 12, it was pretty Kaimen’s birthday!

The girls just had to force me to do the kissing thing. I cringe at the thought of kissing another female. *shudder*

And if once is not enough, I had to do it again!

Congratulations to the newly weds and,

Happy birthday once again to the very special friend. :)
